Maria Klenner (she/her) is a documentary and portrait photographer currently based between Beirut and Berlin. She is working between commissions and personal long term projects on identity, justice, and migration, and available for assignments worldwide.

Maria earned an MA in history and sociology after a training in documentary photography at the Hanover University of Applied Sciences and Arts and La Cambre in Brussels.

She contributes to various media, among them Der Spiegel, Bloomberg, Die Zeit, Monocle, and The Washington Post. Maria has been a member of Agentur Focus since 2023. In 2024, her first book The Children of Bergen-Belsen won the German Photobook Prize.
